What to actually open
If you already use RemitlyLemFi or Sendwave, stay with it for this send.On £300 the three were within 881 naira of each other, about £0.48. None of them took a fee.
If you are choosing between themChoose by how you want to pay.Remitly's rate was 1,838.75 naira to the pound, and Remitly says the rates it shows are for paying by Easy bank transfer. Sendwave's was 1,835.81, and you pay Sendwave with a debit card. LemFi's calculator showed 1,838 and did not say which way of paying it was for. Check the amount in the app before you send.
If you use WiseYou were £1.89 behind Remitly on £300.Wise's rate, 1,840.91, was the highest on this table. The fee is what put it behind: £2.24 by bank transfer, or £3.17 by debit card, when 546,437.32 naira arrive.
If you are new to RemitlyIt showed new customers a better rate on the first £250, one per customer. Two new customers can see different rates, so read the amount on the last screen before you pay.
Do not use Western Union or Xoom online for this send if one of the apps above is open to you.Their fees are small: £0.99 on Western Union by instant bank transfer, £1.49 on Xoom. Most of the gap is in the rate. On £300 each was more than 15,000 naira, about £8, behind Remitly.

Catches
Sendwave's price is for a Nigerian bank account, the only way it pays out to Nigeria. Wise's, Western Union's and Xoom's prices are for a bank account too. Remitly's and LemFi's calculators do not say how the money is paid out. Check the amount on the app's last screen before you pay.
Western Union's site showed a second price beside its normal one: no fee and a slightly better rate, 539,865.26 naira on £300. It did not say who gets it. Even at that price, it was £6.39 behind Remitly.
LemFi's calculator also added a bonus it calls LemFi Cash, 9,190 naira (£5) on this send. The table leaves it out. Read its terms in the app before you count on it.
Type the recipient's name exactly as the Nigerian bank has it, middle names included. If the name does not match, the bank can reject the transfer.
WorldRemit, MoneyGram and the UK banks are not in the table. We did not get a price from them this time. They are missing, not judged. If one of them is your usual app, check what arrives for £300 before you send.
How we checked
The check ran on Friday 6 November 2026, between 12:15 and 12:19 GMT. Each price comes from that app's own UK site or calculator, for £300 to Nigeria. Western Union's is its normal price for a bank account. Xoom's is for a bank account. Remitly's is the normal price, not the new-customer one.
